TREE PLANTING EXTRAVAGANZA

2023-2025 Director's Project

Trees Do Miraculous Things!

  • Trees are good for our health.

  • Trees combat the climate crisis.

  • Trees purify the air.

  • Trees help control flooding.

  •  Trees help sustain wildlife.

  • Trees can lower your energy bill.

  • Trees lower the air temperature.

  • Trees improve soil quality.

These are only a few of the reasons to planting trees.

Why is our project an ‘extravaganza’?

If you look at the definition of ‘extravaganza’, it means a spectacle or display, typically an impressive one.

This means our project is an impressive display of trees we plant throughout our Central Region to help us and the environment.

Each state is responsible for planting trees in their own state.  There are no rules as to the type of tree that can be planted. Trees can be planted by clubs or individuals. We will track the number of trees planted in each state for the 2023-2025 term which will begin on 6/1/23,

An award will be given for the state with the most trees planted per capita during the term.   This means we need to know the total membership for the state on 6/1/23.  We will track this annually.

An additional point will be given for pictures submitted to the Central Region website of your tree planting.

Because this is an ‘extravaganza’ maybe you would like recognition for the most unusual place/circumstance for your tree planting.  This would be a great article for the newsletter!

We hope to see some interesting stories.
